SPECIFICATION
All grates and frames are manufactured from minimum grade T220 Grey cast
Iron to conform to AS1830 - 1976.
All grate castings are machined to provide a positive, rock free seating
on the frame.
All
of Mascot's grates and frames are manufactured in accordance with the
Australian Standard 3996 requirements for Quality Assurance as 3902
where applicable.
GENERAL
Load ratings in accordance with the AS3996 where applicable.
Many sump and kerb entry grates have been created to withstand specific
loads imposed by other than legally road registered
That is, road construction machinery or
commercial passenger aircraft, etc.

Features
All frames have been designed to positively key into the surrounding
concrete slab (or mortar infill) and feature Mascot's "keylock"
system of cast-in frame ties for maximum resistance to deflection. |
MODIFICATIONS
AVAILABLE
All framed gratings can be fitted with holding down bolts for the
prevention of grate removal or pit access.
Mascot's hold-down bolts (unless otherwise requested) are high tensile
steel Allen bolts.
If Required, some grates and frames can be supplied in a variety of cast
metals including bronze, brass or aluminium. As
tensile and compressive stregths vary between alloys, consult your local
Mascot Sales Office to provide load rating estimates and costs.
The
provision of grates and frames cast into a concrete surround is also
available on request. This includes all load ratings in both
standard and "V-Drain" configuration.
In certain cases, hinge pins can be
fitted to allow easier access if regular pit entry is required.
