Hail Creek Mine Rest Area

Glencore’s Hail Creek Open Cut Mine is located in QLD’s Bowen Basin, 120km south-west of Mackay. The mine produces metallurgical and thermal coal for export.

Our customer, Hawkins Group were contracted to work on the mine’s overnight rest area and machine parking project. They chose Mascot Engineering to provide electrical pit packages to house the cabling required for the lighting provisions in the rest area.

As the Mine is located in Central QLD, GRC Electrical Pits were the easiest and most reliable pit choice for transporting to site. Mascot GRC Pits, covered with Class D Concrete Infill Covers with precast surrounds made for an easy installation in a difficult area.

Lightweight Mascot GRC Pits are often used in key infrastructure projects, particularly where access can be difficult due to their resilience and cost effectiveness to transport. Capable of handling loads up to Class G – AS3996:2019, Mascot GRC can be relied upon for the most demanding projects.
