Hope Island Station

Hope Island Station is one of three new rail stations delivered as part of the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority’s Gold Coast Stations Program.

Located between Helensvale and Coomera on the Gold Coast Line, the station provides a vital new transport hub for one of South East Queensland’s fastest-growing communities.

Designed to improve accessibility, encourage public transport use and support long-term regional growth, the station integrates rail, bus, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure into a modern, fully accessible transport precinct.

The Mascot Engineering Solution

As part of the station’s underground infrastructure, Mascot Engineering supplied Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) Cable Pits fitted with Galvanised Mild Steel (GMS) bolt-down checkerplate covers to house and protect critical electrical and communications services.

The lightweight GRC Pit system enabled efficient installation while delivering the durability required for a high-traffic public transport environment. The GMS bolt-down covers provide secure access for maintenance personnel while protecting essential underground assets.

Key Benefits

  • Lightweight GRC construction for faster installation
  • Secure GMS bolt-down checkerplate covers
  • Durable and corrosion-resistant
  • Safe access to electrical and communications services

Outcome

Mascot Engineering’s GRC Cable Pits and GMS bolt-down covers provide a robust, low-maintenance solution that supports the reliable operation of Hope Island Station’s electrical and communications infrastructure while complementing the station’s modern public environment.
