Australian-made OrcaDrain GV200 drainage channels with galvanised Griptech® grates were installed as part of the 2017 upgrade to Niagara Park Railway Station in New South Wales. The project formed part of the NSW Transport Access Program, which aimed to improve accessibility and provide modern, secure and integrated public transport infrastructure.

The platform required drainage to manage surface water runoff while supporting safe pedestrian movement and improved wheelchair access. The system also needed to complement the upgraded platform and station furniture.

Patented Griptech grates combined a heelproof design with slip-resistant anti-slip nodules, addressing the needs of a busy rail platform. The grating helped accommodate passengers with varying mobility needs, including wheelchair users, while providing added grip underfoot in wet weather.

The Australian-made polymer concrete channels provided strength, chemical resistance and durability. Widely specified for drainage channels, polymer concrete is recognised as one of the world’s leading materials for trench drainage systems, offering long service life in demanding public infrastructure environments.
