OrcaDrain 100mm-wide polymer concrete drainage channels were supplied to Christ Church Grammar School in Victoria, combining durable channel construction with heelproof, slip-resistant grating suited to a busy school environment.
Drainage in schools needs to accommodate students, staff and visitors moving between buildings and outdoor spaces throughout the day. Heelproof grating helps reduce the risk of narrow heels becoming caught, while the slip-resistant surface provides added grip underfoot. These features make the system well suited to pedestrian areas used by people of different ages and mobility needs.
The compact 100mm-wide channels allowed drainage to integrate neatly into the surrounding paved areas. The Australian-made polymer concrete construction offered strength, chemical resistance and durability for long service life.
Polymer concrete is widely specified for drainage channels and recognised as one of the world’s leading materials for trench drainage systems. Its combination of durability and low maintenance requirements makes it a practical choice for schools and other public facilities.
This project formed part of Orca’s established project history before the brand joined Mascot Engineering. OrcaDrain is now a new addition to the Mascot Engineering range, bringing proven polymer concrete drainage technology and Australian manufacturing expertise to our broader drainage offering.
