Manufacturing Class G Trench Grating for Heavy Infrastructure
Mascot Engineering has strengthened its heavy infrastructure range with the successful design, testing, manufacture, and supply of a 450mm clear opening Class G (AS3996) ductile iron trench grate and frame system for a major client project.
The 450mm wide trench grate was previously available in Mascot’s Class D range. When the project required a higher load-rated solution, Mascot Engineering developed a Class G version to meet the project specifications and site requirements.
Rated to 900kN, the new Class G grate and frame system is designed for demanding infrastructure environments where heavy vehicle movements, hardstand areas and operational durability are critical.
Designed, Tested and Manufactured by Mascot

For this project, our team designed, tested, manufactured and supplied a Class G ductile iron grate and frame system specifically for the application. The result is a heavy-duty trench grating solution that combines load performance, practical installation and long-term serviceability.
The system includes secure bolt-down grates, machined bearing surfaces to help prevent rocking, and a robust frame designed for installation into heavy-duty concrete hardstands.
