The 6mm heelproof slot design prevents trips and entrapments, making it ideal for areas frequented by children, staff, and visitors alike. The narrow slot width not only protects high heels and small feet, but also allows smooth passage for wheelchairs, walking frames, and mobility aids, supporting accessibility across the entire school site.
Importantly, the 6mm grating gap also aligns with AS 4685, the Australian Standard for playground equipment and surfacing, ensuring finger entrapment safety—a key consideration for environments with young children.
Manufactured from durable ductile iron, the Wavedrain grating is built to endure decades of daily use—including wear and tear from foot traffic, cleaning equipment, and the unpredictable Australian weather.
